Charging and scheduling
Three ways to recharge
Low-charge return
Below a set threshold, usually 20–30%, the robot asks the scheduler for a charger, goes to the nearest free dock and rejoins the queue at the set level.
Opportunity charging
Charging scheduled into production gaps, shift changes and breaks, so the fleet is full when it is needed.
Manual charging
On the spot when a machine has stopped away from a dock; battery servicing at the quarterly check; and single-machine, trial or low-frequency use, where an automatic dock is not needed at all.
Before manual charging, switch the machine off at the key; never use it alongside the automatic port; do not move the machine while charging; and before a long shutdown charge to about 50% rather than full.
