Spare parts and wear items

How to stock

High value Controllers, lidar, drive modules, batteries, gearboxes. Expensive, rarely fail, long replacement intervals — stock by project size, and on a small project not at all.
Low value Buttons, horns, sensors, edges, covers. Cheap and comparatively failure-prone, so keep them on hand: a machine stopped for want of a small button is a poor trade.
Wear items Castors, safety edges, deck rubber, charging contacts, buttons. Normal consumption, planned on a two-year cycle, with the first batch sized by fleet at acceptance.

Quantities rise with fleet size but not proportionally. Between a five-machine and a fifty-machine project, controllers go from none to five while emergency-stop buttons go from two to twenty: cheap frequent items scale with the fleet, expensive rare ones with your tolerance for downtime.
