How many chargers
Chargers = fleet × daily charging hours per machine ÷ available charging hours × a redundancy factor. In practice a rule of thumb is used: one charger per four machines on one shift, one per three on two shifts, one per two on continuous three-shift running — and never fewer than two, to avoid a single point of failure.
Position
Near the running route but off the main aisle, or a charging machine blocks the way.
Space
Allow at least one and a half body lengths in front of the dock for approach and withdrawal.
Power
Each charger needs its own 220 V supply with a sound earth.
Heavy machines
Machines above two tonnes need a high-current charger and cannot share with small ones, or charging drags out.
