Batteries and charging
Every machine runs lithium iron phosphate: safer and longer-lived than ternary lithium (1,500 to 2,000 cycles), lighter and faster to charge than lead acid, with no maintenance.
Charge management runs itself: below a threshold the robot returns to the nearest free dock and rejoins the task queue when it reaches the set level. Charging can also be scheduled into production gaps.
Day to day
Cycling between 20% and 80% is gentler than full charge-discharge, but there is no need to manage it by hand — the charging strategy already does.
Long shutdown
Idle for more than a month: charge to about 50% and switch off at the key, to avoid deep discharge.
Replacement
The battery is a wear item, assessed for replacement after two years or more. Removed packs must go through a licensed recycler.
